Project Summary:

Administered by the Arkansas Department of Education, the Migrant Education Program allocation is distributed among five Migrant Educational Cooperatives to provide a comprehensive program that includes identification, recruitment and enrollment, plus instructional, health and support services. The Co-ops also have the responsibility for staff development, Local Education Agency (LEA) plans and applications, implementation and evaluation of special programs and fiscal management. MEP sites all have large concentrations of mobile migrant families and very limited access to comprehensive family literacy services.
