Project Summary:
The Hawaii Migrant Education Program (MEP) offers a number of innovative services and programs to migrant students in Hawaii. Services provided throughout the state are designed to facilitate continuity of instruction to students who migrate between Hawaii and other states and in the state of Hawaii. Migratory workers are largely Pacific Islanders with a smaller number of Hispanics making up the second largest ethnic group. Services provided to migrant students include tutoring/instructional support, summer school programs, reading and mathematics enrichment activities, supportive and supplemental services, preschool education, computer instruction, as well as training and classes for parents of migratory students.
